Vacations on our farm in Villandro Chiusa

The farmhouse inn is located in Villandro, on the sunny slopes of the Isarco valley about 870 metres above sea level. In 2014, the entire farm was renovated because the old ‘maso’ (mountain farmhouse) dating back to 1900 was no longer functional.

Nature

The Tschott farmhouse on first impact offers an unforgettable experience, all to be enjoyed in the mountains of South Tyrol. Its sunny and peaceful position ensures pure relaxation and offers an unmatched panoramic view of the Isarco valley all the way to the Dolomites.

The chestnut trail

We are on the chestnut trail, which means that you can start off directly from the farmhouse on your excursions.

Alpe di Villandro

Not far from the farmhouse is one of Europe’s most beautiful and largest plateaux, called Alpe di Villandro. This is a marvellous area for the whole family, a paradise for excursions in summer and for cross-country skiing, snow-shoeing and sledding in winter.

The Villandro mine

The Villandro mine has a long and interesting history. In the Middle Ages, the mine, located on Mount Fundres, was one of Tyrol’s most important quarries where silver, copper and iron were extracted. In the 20th century, the mine was closed due to the drop in mineral findings. Today its 40 km of old and new tunnels are open to the public.

Villandro

The town of Villandro is located just about 2 km from the farmhouse and can be reached on foot too. Once you have visited the Archeopark with its excavations and stone, bronze and iron age findings, take a stroll through the streets of the town. Enjoy a good coffee, or a special dish in one of the gourmet restaurants, accompanied by a good glass of wine, or a delicious pizza in one of the pizzerias. Downtown you will also find a supermarket, a bread shop and a chemist.

Culture & Environs

Just five km from the small town of Chiusa, known as Dürer’s Town, with its enchanting historical centre is the destination of pleasant outings and cultural visits. Our farm is also an excellent starting point for visits to other splendid South Tyrolean cities and towns, such as Bressanone, Bolzano, Merano, Vipiteno and Brunico, and for hiking and skiing enthusiasts.
